Label that fur!
HSUS

Ask Minister Brennan to introduce legislation for clear fur labelling today.

Can you be certain that clothing and accessories for sale on UK High Streets are free from real fur? Wouldn't you be horrified to find that the 'fake fur' trim on a coat you wanted to buy was actually made of real fur?

The Early Day Motion on the issue of clear labelling of fur has received the support of 219 Members of Parliament. The Early Day Motion (EDM 253) introduced by Judy Mallaber MP, calling on the government to introduce an order requiring all real fur to be clearly labelled, has been signed by 219 Members of Parliament! Now we are calling on the Minister, Kevin Brennan, to protect consumers and introduce a labelling order requiring all real fur on sale to carry a label that clearly states that the item is made using real animal fur, whether or not it has been dyed, and the country of origin of the fur.

Please ask Minister Brennan to introduce fur labelling legislation today. Visit http://e-activist.com/ea-campaign/clientcampaign.do

A clear labelling system would ensure manufacturers would have to clearly state if an item contained real fur, and would let shoppers make an informed choice -- allowing compassionate consumers to choose not to support a cruel

Price and quality are often not good enough guides to knowing the difference. With advances in the quality of fake fur and the low cost of real animal fur, consumers may be buying real fur without even realizing it. Investigations have revealed that many designers and retailers have sold unlabelled or mislabelled fur-trimmed jackets.

Please ask the Minister responsible, Kevin Brennan, to act now to introduce a clear fur labelling system -- allowing compassionate consumers to choose not to support a cruel and unnecessary industry. Visit http://e-activist.com/ea-campaign/clientcampaign.do
