Our week of action against real fur sporrans had a fantastic response as supporters across the country hit the streets with leaflets and discount vouchers for fake-fur sporrans! A big thanks to everyone who supported the campaign. See some photos http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=49700&id=1633402112&l=b6d2caba3a You can still participate by sending a quick email to retailers who still sell fur here http://www.edinburghfurfreecity.co.uk/emailsporran.php
Our first Green Fork workshop and meetup group launches tomorrow in Tweedbank where we’d also be unveiling the compassionate living guide to the Borders http://www.ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/shownotice.php?articleid=83 The next one is Dundee on the 19th June and that covers the Angus area – if you are based there, come along. Email bookings@greenfork.org.uk for a free place!
The next couple of months, we will keep protesting at shops that still sell fur – along with events organized in various parts of Scotland. Your help and participation towards a healthier, ethical, compassionate and low-carbon Scotland is welcome – the animals need you!

Is factory farming making you sick?: Animal Aid has released a shocking new factory farming film featuring grim scenes shot secretly in randomly-selected farms across the UK during the last three years. Watch the vide and find out more. We'd be hitting the streets in Edinburgh on the 14th July to raise more awareness. http://ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/shownotice.php?articleid=91

How will animals fare under the new Coalition Government?: The Labour Party has failed to hold on to power and lost almost a hundred MPs, mainly to the Conservatives. We use the Programme for Government agreed by the coalition as a starting point for assessing the prospects for animal protection, focussing here on hunting and animal experiments. http://ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/shownotice.php?articleid=93

Bobby Roberts is back up in Scotland. It’s the only circus in the UK which tours with an old arthritic elephant – Anne. Please ask your local shops to take posters down for the circus and consider leafleting in your area. They are in Edinburgh from the 7th June at the Royal Highland Center (and Borders before then). Get in touch if you can come for a protest, and email the Center asking them not to allow this circus to go ahead. Tomorrow is the World Environment Day, but its also the World Day Against Speciesism. Speciesism is to species what racism is to race, i.e. the will to disregard the interests of some individuals in order to give advantage to others under arbitrary excuses. Animals are sensitive beings that also want to avoid suffering and that wish to enjoy their lives. Just like humans. Tomorrow, we celebrate the day of equality - with all the animals we share this world with. http://ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/shownotice.php?articleid=87

To the animals we pledge, we hear your cries and we are coming,
See you tomorrow,
Eva
